Let Your FEAR Lead to Your SUCCESS

by Coach T.C. Coleman

Sunday Inspiration #2

Today’s Thought:   Fear (when properly managed) can promote creativity, preparedness and excellence.

This Week’s Coaching Exercise

Get out your journal (if you don’t have a journal- you can order one here) and write down the 3 things that scare you most about making a transition that you know you need to make in 2008.    Your transitions may include things like (i) changing law firms; (ii) positioning yourself for success as a new partner; (iii) transitioning to a government position; (iv) moving in-house; (vi) leaving the legal profession altogether or (vii) moving to a new city for what looks like a fantastic opportunity.

List 3 things you can do or systems you can put in place to reduce the chances that what you fear will become a reality.   This exercise supports your discovery of what concrete steps you need to take to get past your fears so that you can achieve accelerated success.

Now … schedule time to put the steps you have identified in action.   Let us know if we can help.  You will find that a structured coaching program can help you achieve greater success … faster!      Until next time … Take GREAT Care!

FOCUS leads to SUCCESS

by Coach T.C. Coleman

Sunday Inspiration #1

Today marks the first day of a new series entitled Sunday Inspiration.   This will be a year long series of weekly postings designed to encourage you to think more deeply about the intersection of your passion and purpose with your legal education.  Each post in Sunday Inspiration will contain a brief thought for your consideration along with a short coaching exercise.

So … enjoy Sunday Inspiration and let us know how it impacts your journey to accelerated professional success.

Today’s Thought … Focus

Consistent focus creates reality.

This Week’s Coaching Exercise

meditation Make a commitment to spend no less than 10 minutes each day this week ”focusing” on something that will help you build your practice or gain greater clarity about the intersection of your passion, purpose and legal talent.  Daily meditation is enough to get you started.  Build this time into your schedule and stick to your schedule.   Do not let a lack of time prevent you from the focus necessary to make your vision a reality.   You can complete this exercise by simply waking up 15 minutes earlier in the morning - or taking a 15 minute walk during your work day.

We invite you to contact us to explore how an UpwardAction Coaching program can help you get the most from your commitment to focus.

Until next time … Take GREAT Care!
